Part-time News Editor for Travel-related Nonprofit Group (worldwide)

Ethical Traveler, a Berkeley based non-profit, is looking for a volunteer editor for our news department.

Skills required:

  • Demonstrated experience editing news and/or feature stories. Must be able to handle both line and copy editing. Some fact-checking required.
  • Self-starter capable of managing assignments, copy flow and writers to meet monthly deadlines
  • Keen interest in travel and international issues (cultural, environmental, human rights, etc.)
  • Job requires approximately 8-10 hours per month
  • One year commitment desired
  • Academic credit available
  • Telecommuting OK

Ethical Traveler is an all-volunteer organization uniting adventurers, tourists, travel agencies, and outfitters to join our voices, and to use our economic power to strengthen human rights and protect the environment. The news department is responsible for the news section of our web site, ethicaltraveler.org/news.php.

This is an unpaid, volunteer position. However, there is an honorarium of $100 per month.
